SQL Database Administrator (Mid-Level/Intermediate)

We are seeking a passionate SQL DBA to take full ownership of our core Microsoft SQL Server environments (from legacy 2008/2012 to modern iterations). You will act as the primary guardian of our data-handling routine administration, backups, replication, and real-time production troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

Data Protection & Business Continuity

• Backups & Recovery: Monitor, verify, and secure daily backups. Proactively troubleshoot failure alerts and rerun processes swiftly.

• High Availability & DR: Maintain and troubleshoot HA/DR environments utilizing Clustering, Database Mirroring, Log Shipping, and Hot Standby servers.

• Testing & Drills: Actively participate in periodic failover and disaster recovery testing.

Systems Engineering & Maintenance

• Deployments: Install, configure, and provision new MS SQL Server instances.

• Lifecycle Management: Handle routine database patching, operating system updates, migrations, and major version upgrades.

• Documentation: Build and maintain clear, comprehensive technical documentation for server builds, enhancements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Performance & Collaboration

• Optimization: Deep-dive into query optimization, index tuning, and stored procedure refinement to keep server performance peaking.

• DB Architecture: Partner directly with developer teams to design, model (logical and physical), and architect database solutions for core platform initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 2 to 5 years of dedicated SQL Server Administration experience.

• Technical Edge: Solid exposure to SQL Server Clustering and High Availability tech.

• Mindset: A genuine passion for database engineering and keeping systems running flawlessly.

• Collaborative Skills: Ability to work effectively within cross-functional IT teams and actively contribute to technical workshops.

• Certifications (Highly Advantageous): MCSA, MCSE, MCDBA, MCITP, MCTS, or relevant modern Microsoft Data certifications, as well as ITIL framework familiarity.
